Antti Sommarhem is a Consultant Pediatric Hand Surgeon from Helsinki. After qualifying as a hand surgeon in 2011 he was trained in Hand Surgery and reconstructive microsurgery in Singapore National University Hospital from 2011 to 2012.
Since then he has worked at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in Children’s Hospital Helsinki as a senior consultant hand surgeon.
His work has recently focused on congenital hand anomalies, obstetrical plexus palsy, and malignant tumors of upper extremity.
Since 2013 he has been the leader of the Finnish hand allotransplant development team. He has also worked as a visiting consultant in other Finnish hospitals.
His main scientific interest has recently been in obstetrical plexus palsy
