Rosario Emanuele Perrotta
Professor Rosario Emanuele Perrotta is a reconstructive surgeon and Full Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Catania where, in 1990, he was graduated in Medicine and Surgery.
He completed the residency program in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the University of Catania in 1995.
He attended several foreign medical institutions completing his training with Fellow in microsurgical techniques at the “Klinika Plastické Chirurgie” of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the J.E. University Purkyne of Brno – Czechoslovakia, in microsurgery and hand surgery at the “Institut Français de la Main” / “Institut de la Main” and at the “Center des Grands Brûlés de l’Hopital Cochin de l’Assistance Publique / Hôpitaux de Paris” – France.
He has performed surgery in all areas of reconstructive surgery and microsurgery with a particular focus on: microsurgical reconstruction of the limbs, limbs replantation, hand surgery, reconstructive surgery of the breast, surgical reconversion of sex in patients with gender dysphoria or chromosomal abnormalities and congenital malformation.
He is a member of the SICPRE, SICM, SIM.
He is the Head of Plastic Surgery Unit of the “Cannizzaro” Hospital in Catania, Italy.
